FRESHBOX FAQs
What you need to know

What is FRESHBOX?
FRESHBOX is a weekly box of seasonal, locally and organically grown vegetables from FRESH Co-op member growers.
How long does the FRESHBOX season run?
The first FRESHBOX season runs for 30 weeks, from Friday 23 October to Friday 14 May.
What will be in my box?
Each weekly box will contain around 8-10 different seasonal vegetables, selected from whatever is at its freshest and best across our member farms that week.
Can I choose which vegetables I receive?
FRESHBOX is a seasonal farmers’ pick mixed box. This allows us to share the best of what's ready to harvest each week and gives you the opportunity to discover a greater variety of local produce.
Will I know what's in my box beforehand?
We’ll send you a weekly email letting you know what’s in the box so you can plan your meals! We’ll also be sharing some of our favourite recipes throughout the season.
How many people is a box designed to feed?
We've sized the box for a family of four eating regular meals or a couple who love their vegetables. Smaller households may like to share a box with a friend, neighbour or family member.
How much does FRESHBOX cost?
Each veg box costs $45 per week, plus a $5 packing fee per order, which contributes to the operation of the online store and allows produce to remain at farmers’ market prices. Home delivery is $10 per delivery.
Where are the vegetables grown?
The vegetables come from us, the FRESH Co-op member growers in the Eurobodalla and surrounding region, including Boobook Hill (Majors Creek), Good Paddock (Mogendoura), Lillian's Lane Organics (Moruya), Old Mill Road (Turlinjah), and Yowrie Valley Growers (Yowrie).
Are the vegetables organic?
All our FRESHBOX member farmers grow using organic growing practices. In addition, Boobook Hill holds organic certification (SXC25145).
How fresh are the vegetables?
Very! We usually harvest your veg the day before you get your FRESHBOX and keep it in cool storage until you pick it up or we drop it off.
How and when do I receive my box?
You can either have your box delivered to your home within our delivery zone (Moruya to Tomakin) or collect it from our Moruya hub on Fridays. If you are one of our Bermagui customers, you can choose to get home delivery or Bermi hub pickup on Wednesdays.
Am I in the delivery zone?
To find out if your home is in our local delivery zone, head to fresh-co-op.ooooby.org/ and input your address.
What happens if I'm not home for my delivery?
We will leave it in a safe place at your home, covered with a damp cloth to keep it cool and fresh. You can let us know where at your house you would like us to leave it when you subscribe online and choose ‘home delivery’.
Can I change from home delivery to hub pickup (or vice versa)?
Yes, email us to request at freshcooperative@gmail.com.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes. Subscribers can pause their FRESHBOX for up to two individual weeks during the season. So, two week-long pauses are available for our subscribers per season.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, if you need to, you can cancel your subscription via the online ordering site.
What if I don't like something in my box?
We encourage you to share anything you won't use with a friend, neighbour or family member.
Can I add other local products to my box?
Yes! You can add selected local pantry staples through our online shop, including bread, milk, cheese, eggs, honey, coffee and fresh pasta. We will also have extra vegetables listed online that you can buy to receive with your regular box as one-off additions. Order from Friday night to Sunday night for the next Friday pickup/delivery (or Wednesday pickup/delivery if you’re in Bermagui).
Can I subscribe to pantry staples as well?
Yes, selected pantry staples can be ordered as regular subscriptions alongside your FRESHBOX.
Can I order pantry staples without getting a FRESHBOX?
Yes, you can order one-off pantry staples or extra veg via our online ordering site.
How do I order and pay?
FRESHBOX subscriptions and weekly payments are made through the online ordering site
Is it safe to order and pay online through Ooooby?
Yes. FRESHBOX orders and payments are processed through OOOOBY, a dedicated online platform used by food producers and community food businesses. Your payment details are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI level 1 service provider (the highest level of security certification in the payments industry). FRESH Co-op does not see or store your full credit card details.
As with any online purchase, we recommend using a secure internet connection and keeping your account password private.
Is there a minimum commitment?
The first FRESHBOX release is a 30-week seasonal subscription. Subscribers commit to receiving a veg box every week for 30 weeks, with payments weekly.
How many FRESHBOX places are available?
There are 50 places in this first release. We’ll announce one more 50-place subscription release in the coming weeks.
